Tristan working at a school means he brings home a variety of germs every day, so I try to make decently balanced meals on a daily basis to keep us healthy. And we’ve been doing a pretty damn good job of not getting sick! Neither one of us has gotten a cold for over a year!
When it seems like friends or coworkers are getting sick, I like to make a giant mugful of golden milk as a snack.
Golden milk, or turmeric milk, is an Indian drink that’s become increasingly popular because it’s full of antioxidants and has anti-inflammatory properties. It seems like it’s traditionally made with cow’s milk, but we’re pretty much dairy free in our home. If you’ve never had golden milk before, it’s creamy, warm, and just a tad spicy. I sweeten it with raw honey or coconut sugar but I would say it’s both savory and sweet. Kind of like a mildly sweet Indian curry in drink form. Although, that doesn’t make it sound appetizing at all, does it haha. But really, just

Hi, it’s Kristina from Fiesta Friday. I love drinking golden milk when I get sick. I’ve never added honey to it before, but thanks for the good idea, I will have to try it. It will probably taste even better! I just love how there are natural ways to prevent getting sick. They all seem to work pretty well for me and my family!
Hey Kristina! I’ve never had mine without honey or coconut sugar, but I bet it’s just as delicious!
I know what you mean about natural ways to stay healthy. I feel like too often people rely on medicine or synthetic chemicals. I was definitely one of them! haha but once I got pregnant, I started rethinking my ways 🙂
